The interchangeable NIGHTSEA Barrier Filters are used with the NIGHTSEA SFA Stereo Microscope Fluorescence Adapter. A NIGHTSEA Barrier Filter attaches over the microscope's objectives magnetically to the NIGHTSEA ring adapter, and blocks reflected excitation light and transmits only the fluorescence. Without a barrier filter, only very bright fluorescing areas will be visible, with the reflected excitation light overwhelming much of the detail.
The magnetic attachment of the NIGHTSEA Barrier Filter to the NIGHTSEA ring adapter makes it easy to switch between different excitation and emission combinations. Each NIGHTSEA Barrier Filter is colour coded to aid in matching it to the corresponding excitation Light Head and viewing Filter Shield.
A NIGHTSEA Barrier Filter is included in each Add-On Light and Filter Set, and they are supplied here separately if additional Barrier Filters are required.

What customers think
I am very happy with the Nightsea, it serves its purpose for us well in genotyping/phenotyping Drosophila larvae expressing fluorescent proteins. A fraction of the cost of a conventional fluorescence dissecting microscope
